What Ledger Couldn't Count
At sixteen I was a national-level pairs skater under one of the most decorated coaches in Canadian figure skating. The training produced champions. It also produced children who were weighed, timed and ranked. To survive it I invented a guardian angel and made him an accountant, because an accountant keeps things balanced. I called him Ledger. He stayed thirty years.
